Ex-national player Timo Werner is on the verge of a move to Major League Soccer, according to the US media. The RB Leipzig professional and the San José Earthquakes from the US state of California have almost reached an agreement, reported "The Athletic". The 29-year-old attacker is set to become a top earner in a team that has missed out on the play-offs in each of the last two years.
Most teams will begin their pre-season preparations in the MLS in the next two weeks. Werner could therefore play the entire MLS season if he leaves Leipzig and would not come during the current season like Thomas Müller (Vancouver Whitecaps) or Marco Reus (Los Angeles Galaxy) the year before.
