Dynamo Dresden will play two East duels at the end of the summer preparations. As announced by the club, the second-division soccer club will play a closed-door match against promoted second-division side Energie Cottbus on July 25. The official season opener will be the match against Bundesliga side 1. FC Union Berlin at the Harbig Stadium on August 1 at 2:00 pm.
Coach Thomas Stamm will invite his squad to the first training session of the new season on June 25 from 3:00 pm. As in the previous year, the Black & Yellows are moving back to the surrounding area and are therefore guests of TuS Weinböhla. After games at Budissa Bautzen (July 3), at LSV Neustadt/Spree (July 4) and against KSV Hessen Kassel in Großenhain (July 11), Dynamo will travel to the training camp in Windischgarten, Austria, from July 16 to 23, where a test match against Grazer AK has been arranged for July 18.
The fact that the Saxons are testing against Cottbus is a little surprising. After all, the two teams could face each other for points relatively early in the season. However, the two clubs maintain good contact and already played a test over two 90-minute periods last season.
