Riots at Dynamo: No perpetrators identified yet

After the riots at the match between Dynamo Dresden and Hertha BSC almost two weeks ago, the police are taking longer to clear up the situation. "So far, no suspects have been identified. Further investigations are necessary at this point," the "Sächsische Zeitung" quoted a spokesperson for the Dresden police headquarters as saying.

Second-division soccer club Dynamo went public on Tuesday and announced, among other things, that it intended to ban the perpetrators from the club and withdraw their membership. However, this requires identification by the police.

Investigation into 19 cases

At the match on April 4, supporters of both teams had climbed over barrier fences and attacked each other inside the stadium with fireworks, among other things. Police officers then intervened, separated the camps and secured the pitch.

The police are currently investigating 19 cases and the "EG Fahne" investigation team, which comprises 14 officers, is tasked with reconstructing the incident. "With regard to the trigger of the violent confrontation, the focus is still on the theft of a fan flag," the police announced.
