In the winter semester 2022/23, just under half of all Chinese in Saxony were enrolled at a university.

Many Chinese people come to Saxony to study. As the State Statistical Office announced on Friday, almost half of all Chinese living in the Free State were enrolled at a university in the winter semester of 2022/23. In 2023, a total of 5326 people (as of September 30, 2023) with Chinese citizenship were living in Saxony.

Compared to 2019, the number is declining: at the end of 2019, the statistics office counted 6141 Chinese nationals in Saxony.
