The Saxon Ministry of Culture is funding school newspapers with up to 250 euros for the first issues. Applications can be submitted until May 17.

The Saxon Ministry of Culture continues to support the founding of school newspapers with up to 250 euros. Anyone who has published a first edition this school year or still wants to publish one can apply for the start-up aid until May 17. It also applies to an online newspaper, the Ministry of Culture announced on Sunday in Dresden. Invoices for paper, printing or technical equipment, for example, will be covered.

"School newspapers are an important part of democracy. On the one hand, pupils who publish their own newspaper learn the craft of journalism, and on the other hand, they have to deal with various topics objectively," explained Minister of Education Christian Piwarz (CDU).
