The Saxon Ministry of Culture does not believe in banning the wolf salute in nurseries and schools. The gesture is similar to the nationalistic wolf salute, which was shown by a Turkish player and many Turkish fans during the European Football Championship.

A ministry spokeswoman said that when a teacher or educator uses the gesture, it is in conjunction with the words "silent fox" or "quiet" to calm down a noisy situation. "There is no risk of confusion with the wolf salute." A ban on the silent salute would be completely excessive.
