More than 10,800 young people in Saxony are celebrating their high school graduation—some achieved the highest possible grade. The Minister of Education praised the graduates and teachers for their consistently strong results.

They have every reason to be proud of their achievements: 266 high school graduates earned a perfect grade of 1.0. In total, around 10,800 Saxon students earned their general university entrance qualification this school year, according to the Ministry of Culture. That was nearly 700 more than a year ago. The average grade of 2.23 was roughly on par with that of the 2024–2025 school year.

Minister of Education Conrad Clemens congratulated the high school graduates on their successful completion of the program. “These consistently good results show the steady work being done in our schools,” said the CDU politician. “Here, the students’ hard work meets the reliable support of their teachers.”
