After two years, the Dresden-based DJ has announced a new album. He’s also releasing a new single as a preview. Fans can also look forward to six concerts in Germany.

Dresden-based DJ Purple Disco Machine has announced his fourth album: “Cosmotropia” will be released on April 30, 2027. “Just like with my last album, ‘Paradise,’ it was important to me to create a whole new world with my music,” Tino Piontek told the German Press Agency. “To do that, I went back to my childhood and explored the music my parents used to listen to.”

Inspired by artists such as Jean-Michel Jarre, The Alan Parsons Project, and Pink Floyd, “Cosmotropia” blends the disco sounds of the 1970s and 1980s with Purple Disco Machine’s signature sound. “For the new album, I once again invited the musicians and friends I’ve been working with for many years,” said the 2023 Grammy winner. Songwriters like Ásdís and Theo from Hurts came to Dresden for the project.

First single released immediately

Fans can pass the time with the first single, “Test My Luck,” which is being released alongside the album announcement. “It reflects my personal and musical development quite well,” Piontek explained. The song was the first track on the new album, created in collaboration with pop singer Meek. The 46-year-old said he’s been following the British singer’s music since her debut album. “She takes the song to a new level and gives it a special touch.”

European Tour with Six German Dates

In the fall of 2027, the Dresden native will embark on a European tour with “Cosmotropia.” The six dates in Germany have already been confirmed. The tour kicks off on October 8 in Cologne, followed by Leipzig (Oct. 14), Munich (Oct. 15), Berlin (Oct. 28), Hamburg (Oct. 29), and Stuttgart (Oct. 30).

“For every artist, it’s the highlight to finally bring the songs—which were created over months in the studio—to the stage,” says Piontek. Following the four concerts against the historic backdrop of the Dresden Zwinger—the only dates in Germany this year—he is really looking forward to performing in additional cities in 2027.

Tickets are now available through the fan presale, starting Monday at Eventim, and starting Wednesday at all other ticket outlets. More European dates are expected to be announced shortly.
