High-caliber works of art from the Zwickau Max Pechstein Museum will soon be on display in Linz, Austria. The exhibition is part of an international tour of more than 100 works by the expressionist Max Pechstein (1881-1955) during the multi-year renovation of the Zwickau museum building. The show in Linz also aims to highlight a historical connection between the two cities, it is said.
"The exhibition makes visible how closely the history of modernism is linked to networks of artists, collectors and art dealers - and how these still shape our institutions today," explained the director of the Lentos Kunstmuseum, Hemma Schmutz, in a statement.
