The Dresden Music Festival considers itself to have joined the world’s elite. Artistic Director Jan Vogler drew an extremely positive conclusion shortly before the end of the festival, noting that this year they had succeeded in joining the elite of global festivals and comparing Dresden to Salzburg or Lucerne.
Festival ends with record results
At the very least, the 49th edition, which took place over the past four weeks under the motto “The Lightness of Being,” will go down in history with record results. There has never been a 96 percent capacity before. Ticket sales revenue of more than 2.2 million euros was ten percent higher than previous records. A total of around 68,000 guests attended the 64 performances.
