Dresden's search for a new Managing Director of Sport is over. Thomas Brendel takes over the vacant position.

Thomas Brendel will take over the vacant position of Managing Director of Sport at SG Dynamo Dresden on June 1, 2024. The decision to appoint the 48-year-old was announced by the supervisory board of the third-division soccer club on Wednesday. "Thomas is a connoisseur of German professional soccer and, in addition to a large network, he brings a wealth of experience and a clear philosophy of soccer and leadership culture to Dresden that suits us," Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board Michael Ziegenbalg was quoted as saying in a press release.

Brendel will now complete the trio of managing directors around David Fischer (Communications) and Stephan Zimmermann (Finance). He most recently worked as sports director at FSV Frankfurt. He was hired there in 2018. After his job interview in Dresden became known last week, the regional league club dismissed him.
