Third division soccer club Dynamo Dresden have impressively broken the negative trend of recent weeks. On Saturday, the Saxons defeated VfB Lübeck 7:2 (4:1) in a furious game. Niklas Hauptmann, Luca Herrmann and Jakob Lemmer (10th/14th/28th) gave the Black & Yellows a clear lead early on. Stefan Kutschke (38') countered Marius Hauptmann's (32') goal to make it 4:1. Shortly before half-time, Lübeck's Jannik Löhden (40') was shown a controversial red card for a second foul.
After the break, VfB striker Daouda Beleme (53') missed the follow-up penalty. In the minutes that followed, the match was interrupted for several minutes due to fireworks being set off in the Lübeck block. When play resumed, Dresden's Hauptmann (60) crowned his strong performance. A deflected shot from the midfielder landed unstoppably in the Lübeck goal. Aaron Herzog (62) converted his second penalty of the day shortly afterwards to reduce the deficit to 5:2 for the North Germans. An own goal by Tommy Grupe (81') and the 7:2 by Jakob Lemmer (90.+3) marked the end of a memorable third division match in front of 26,377 spectators.
