Dynamo Dresden fought their way to a 3:2 (2:1) win at Hannover 96 II and underpinned their lead in the 3rd Football League. Dominik Kother had put the Saxons ahead with a brace (20th/28th). Christoph Daferner (55) converted a penalty to make it 3-1 in front of 11,980 spectators.
The talented Hannover side, who never let up, pulled a goal back through Valmir Sulejmani (40) before the break. Eric Uhlmann (86') then managed to tie the scores again.
Lead gives no security
For half an hour, only Dynamo played - supported by up to 8,000 fans. However, the visitors only created a few chances. But Kother made consistent use of them. For the first goal, he was played in by Niklas Hauptmann on the left wing and slotted the ball home with the help of Hannover goalkeeper Leon-Oumar Wechsel. Goal number two was set up by a dream pass from Mika Baur, with Kother smashing the ball under the crossbar in his 90th third division match.
After that, there was a break in Dresden's play. Sulejmani's strong finish changed everything before the break. The Hannover man almost equalized in stoppage time, but Dynamo goalkeeper Tim Schreiber reacted magnificently.
