FC Erzgebirge Aue left the relegation places in the 3rd division for the time being with their first away win of the season. Coach Jens Härtel's charges secured a 1-0 (1-0) win at Alemannia Aachen to celebrate their second three-pointer in a row. Pascal Fallmann put the visitors ahead after 34 minutes. It remained the only goal in a match with few chances.
Aachen's Tivoli was quiet for a long time. The hosts had more possession but, like Auer, were unable to create anything forwards. The Saxons waited and then took control after 20 minutes. Tristan Zobel had two good opportunities in the 25th minute, but Aachen goalkeeper Jan Olschowsky thwarted them.
So the lead was no great surprise. Fallmann probably wanted to cross, but he hit the ball so well with the outside of his foot that it flew over Olschowsky, who was positioned too far forward, and into the goal. That in turn spurred Alemannia on, who also had a decent chance to equalize through Lukas Scepanik (41').
Aue pull back
Aue did not do much going forward after the break, similar to their 2-0 win over 1860 Munich. The visitors let their opponents do the work, stood very well organized at the back and waited. However, as Aachen also started relatively unimaginatively, there was a lack of excitement. It was only after 76 minutes that Jannic Ehlers, who had just come on as a substitute, caught Aue's attention again with a shot from distance.
It was only in the final minutes that there were chances for both sides. Julian Günther-Schmidt hit the outside of the Aachen net in the 90th minute. In seven minutes of stoppage time, Olschowsky prevented a certain 0:2 against Ehlers.
