The SC DHfK Leipzig handball team missed out on reaching the Final Four of the DHB Cup for the second time since 2017. The team of Head Coach Frank Carstens lost the quarter-final duel against third-placed TVB Lemgo Lippe in Dresden by 27:35 (11:14). In front of 2,704 spectators, Lucas Krzikalla was SC DHfK's best scorer with six goals.
After a nervous start, Leipzig found its rhythm in attack and led 7:5 in the 12th minute after a 4:0 run. However, the bottom club in the German league then repeatedly failed to score due to the strong performance of TBV goalkeeper Constantin Möstl, who made nine saves up to the break. Lemgo was more efficient in attack and went in at half-time with a three-goal lead.
Although Leipzig increased its shooting percentage after the break, it was still not able to close the gap because the variable visitors reliably found good solutions in offense. With a 4:1 run to make it 29:22 (52'), they ensured the preliminary decision.
