The Olympic victory in Cortina d'Ampezzo only goes to Laura Nolte. She also wins the overall World Cup in the two-man bobsleigh. And how: with a start and track record.

Laura Nolte has completed the double in the overall World Cup. After her first success in the monobob, the 27-year-old from BSC Winterberg also won the big crystal globe in the two-man bobsleigh. With push athlete Deborah Levi, the Olympic champion clearly won ahead of US pilot Kaillie Humphries-Armbruster thanks to start and track records in 5.50 and 55.96 seconds. Third place went to Kim Kalicki from Wiesbaden, who rode with Lauryn Siebert. The 2023 World Champion also finished third in the overall World Cup.

Nolte: "Going to Cortina with a lot of confidence"

"We were already super happy with the first run. And then to break the start record with a 50 is simply amazing," said World Champion Nolte, who has won five times in seven races this season. Pusher Levi emphasized: "We are really happy, really cool. Laura's run was just awesome." Looking ahead to the Olympic races in Italy in February, Nolte explained: "We've also been the favorites in recent years, so we can handle that well. We're also going to Cortina with a lot of self-confidence."

Lisa Buckwitz from BRC Thüringen fluffed the track after a training crash in the first run with Kira Lipperheide. In the end, she had to settle for sixth place. She finished fourth in the overall World Cup. "Now it's important to take a two-week break and rest my head again, it was a really tough seven competitions," said Buckwitz.
