The Niners Chemnitz have also lost their second away game in the Basketball Eurocup. The team of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore was defeated 88:93 (47:55) at Besiktas Istanbul. Kevin Yebo's 32 points made him the best scorer for the Niners, who had previously won four in a row in all competitions.
Chemnitz initially forced a duel at eye level, but conceded a 0:8 run at the end of the final quarter (19:27). Besiktas gained an advantage in rebounding and scored far better than the club from Saxony from the three-point line. The home side had everything under control up to 67:54 in the 25th minute, before the Niners stepped up their intensity in defense and so laid the foundation for a 16:1 run across the quarters to make it 70:68 in the 31st minute.
Besiktas struck back with a 10:0 run to make it 78:70 in the 34th minute, but Chemnitz refused to be shaken off and closed the gap to 83:84 in the 37th minute through the outstanding Yebo. The home side then had the better end on its side in the final spell.
