Bundesliga basketball club Niners Chemnitz has suffered a setback in the Eurocup. The team of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore lost the German duel at rival ratiopharm Ulm by 76:88 (41:46). As a result, the Niners not only missed out on their fifth win in succession, but also lost the head-to-head tie after winning the first leg 89:78. Amadou Sow was Chemnitz' best scorer with 20 points. Aher Uguak scored six points on his comeback after almost a year out through injury.
Chemnitz initially had great difficulty getting into the game. They missed many chances in attack and found no means in defense against Ulm's Christopher Ledlum, who had already scored 16 points for the home side when the score was 30:19 in the 13th minute. As a result, the Niners increased their shooting percentage from the foul line considerably and so reduced the deficit by the break.
After the break, Ulm pulled 60:51 (27') ahead, before the visitors turned the game around with a 13:2 run to make it 64:62 (30'). However, they ran out of steam in the final quarter. Ulm had much more to add and deserved to win.
