The German league basketball team Niners Chemnitz still has to wait for its first away win in the Eurocup. The team of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore squandered a 13-point lead in the final quarter at French first-division club Cosea JL Bourg-en-Bresse on Tuesday evening and lost by 82:85 (41:36). Corey Davis Jr. was the Niners' best scorer with 25 points and they dropped to eighth in Group B after their fourth defeat.
Chemnitz, who had to do without Kevin Yebo and Nike Sibande at short notice, struggled to get into the game and initially found it very difficult, especially under the basket. However, the visitors increasingly gained control from the second quarter onwards. They moved the ball patiently and benefited in defense from the fact that the home side often got bogged down in individual actions. As a result, the Niners were 34:25 ahead after 16 minutes.
The French club started the second half with more energy and turned the game around to make it 50:46 in the 24th minute. However, Chemnitz was not impressed and produced an 11:0 run to pull 71:58 ahead by the 33rd minute. However, the visitors, who had four players retire early with five fouls, had nothing more to offer in the final spell.
