The German league basketball team Niners Chemnitz has celebrated its first away win in the Eurocup after a long and convincing performance and a brief tremor. The team of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore won 105:94 (53:37) at Italian cup winners Dolomiti Energia Trento and moved up to seventh in the Group B table with its third victory overall. Kevin Yebo was the Niners' best scorer with 33 points.
After a scrappy opening spell, the home side initially gained the advantage with its consistent drive to the basket and led 20:15 shortly before the end of the first quarter. However, Chemnitz struck back with a 10:0 run to make it 25:20. The club from Saxony dominated up to the break with outstanding ball movement and a strong shooting percentage from the foul line (9/18).
The Niners stretched their lead to 61:39 in the 22nd minute after the break, but then became sloppy in defense. The home side did not give up, secured many second chances to score and cut the deficit to 92:97 with 65 seconds remaining. However, the outstanding Yebo then put an end to Chemnitz's trembling.
