Late goal: Dresden stops Bielefeld's winning run

Dynamo Dresden put a stop to Arminia Bielefeld's run of form. In the clash between the two promoted teams, the Saxons won 2:1 (1:0) on Sunday thanks to a late goal from Luca Herrmann in Bielefeld and celebrated their first win of the season in the 2nd Bundesliga at the third attempt. Bielefeld, on the other hand, dropped points for the first time this season. Christopher Lannert (75) was also shown the red card.

Dresden had the much better start to the game, with captain Niklas Hauptmann (21st minute) taking an early lead with a low shot. After the break, Joel Grodowski (57th minute) equalized with a spectacular volley.

Cancellation and late goal against

Bielefeld then pushed for another home win, but suffered a setback when Lannert was sent off after a foul on Stefan Kutschke - and were punished twice. In the final phase, in which Dresden had several chances, Herrmann scored from distance in the tenth minute of stoppage time to give the visitors a 2-1 win.

The only good news for Bielefeld came before kick-off: after weeks of tug-of-war, former loanee Marius Wörl was signed permanently from league rivals Hannover 96. With a transfer fee of almost two million euros including bonuses, according to the media, the 21-year-old is the record transfer in Bielefeld's club history.
