After the riots in the third round, FC Erzgebirge Aue's round of 16 match in the regional cup will take place under increased security precautions. The match on Friday evening at SSV Markranstädt was classified by the police and the association as "susceptible to disruption" in category two. The "Leipziger Volkszeitung" reported. "Nothing can be ruled out. We hope it stays calm," said Stefan Weicker, vice president of SSV.

Around 2,000 spectators are expected at the stadium in Bad. A good half of them will be supporting Aue. Normally, Sachsenliga side Markranstädt only play in front of around 100 fans.

Aue's third-round game at Stahl Riesa had to be interrupted for a good half hour in the 83rd minute. Supporters had spilled onto the pitch from the visitors' block and referee Ronny Walter sent both teams to the dressing room. The situation only calmed down when the police arrived and the match could be brought to a close.
