Third division soccer team Erzgebirge Aue lost its last test match. The Veilchen lost 3:1 (0:2) against FC Carl Zeiss Jena at the Stadion am Spiegelwald in Beierfeld. Just three days earlier, they had managed a 1-1 draw against Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund. They had lost 4-0 against regional league side ZFC Meuselwitz.
Joel Richter (1) gave the visitors the lead just seconds after kick-off. Elias Löder (20th) surprisingly increased the lead to 0:2 at half-time. Sean Seitz had to be substituted in the 33rd minute due to injury. Aue were also unable to get a grip on the game in the second half and had to concede 0:3 through Ken Gipson in the 53rd minute. After several chances for the Violets, Steffen Nkansah (77) scored with his head shortly before the end to make it 1:3. Even though the team played better in the second half, the result remained.
On August 3, Aue will start the new third division season against the second team of Hannover 96 (2 p.m.).
