Dynamo play like a top team in the first match after the departure of coach Markus Anfang. An individual mistake costs the victory.

Dynamo Dresden put in a strong performance to earn a 1-1 (0-0) draw in the top match of the 3rd division at SSV Jahn Regensburg, but once again missed out on two important points in the fight for promotion. Stefan Kutschke ended his goal drought in the 54th minute when he perfectly dispatched a header. In front of 15,000 spectators in the sold-out Jahnstadion, the hosts equalized in the 90th minute with a penalty from Christian Viet. Jakob Lewald had fouled Noah Ganaus. Dynamo remain fourth in the table, but are already five points behind the relegation places.

Both teams played a good third division match from the start. While the hosts initially had more of the game and put Dresden under pressure with a very attacking approach, it was the Saxons who took control from the 15th minute onwards with a fine passing game. What was missing on both sides were intensive penalty area scenes. As a result, big chances were few and far between. Both teams had one real opportunity each: In the 30th minute, former Dresden player Florian Ballas hit the crossbar after a corner kick, while Kutschke (45.+1) put a sensitive header just wide of the goal at the other end.

After the changeover, Robin Meißner (47) also narrowly missed, opening up a second half with more chances. The Dynamo lead was not undeserved, but after that it was all Regensburg playing and they created numerous opportunities. In the 61st minute, Luca Herrmann saved on the line. Dresden fought and defended sacrificially. They had to put up with a lot of running, as the hosts were very variable and repeatedly got dangerously close to goal via the flanks. Lewald suffered a lapse in concentration in the final phase, which was immediately punished.
