The Bundesliga volleyball players of Dresdner SC have already failed in the first round of the European CEV Cup. After losing 3:1 in France a week ago, Alexander Waibl's team also lost the second leg against Vandoeuvre Nancy VB in their home arena 3:0 (22:25, 18:25, 17:25).
The hosts were able to keep the game open in the first set in front of 2,120 spectators. However, the DSC made too many easy mistakes, especially on serve. In the second set, the experienced team from Nancy was able to clearly pull away. As a result, the French side had already qualified for the round of 16.
Coach Waibl sent his second row onto the court in the third period in order to rest his regular players. Dresden already have an important Bundesliga home game against Potsdam coming up on Saturday.
