The Dresden SC volleyball players suffered their third defeat in their fourth Champions League match. As expected, the young team of coach Alexander Waibl was beaten 0:3 (19:25, 23:25, 19:25) by the Italian defending champions Carraro Prosecco DOC Conegliano. The German runners-up had already clearly lost the first leg in three sets.
Although the hosts left some of their regulars on the bench this time and used some second-tier players instead, the favorites proved to be clearly superior in the end. Even though the DSC women sold themselves dearly, especially with their self-sacrificing defensive work, and were even briefly in the lead in the third set, there was ultimately nothing to be gained from the experienced Italian top team.
The decisive match for third place will be played on January 28 at home against the Polish team from Lodz.
