The volleyball women of Dresdner SC have lived up to their role as favorites and are through to the semi-finals of the DVV Cup. The defending champions won their quarter-final against the Ladies in Black Aachen 3:0 (25:18, 25:22, 27:25).
In front of 2113 spectators, Alexander Waibl's hosts clearly dictated proceedings in the first set. A few slight mistakes crept in during the second set, but the DSC ladies nevertheless played to their strengths in the decisive moments.
The Aacheners never gave up and took a narrow lead for the first time in the third set. However, Dresden's diagonal attacker Marta Levinska (20 points) was on hand in the decisive phase. The Latvian international converted her third match point after 84 minutes and was subsequently named the most valuable player.
