The Niners Chemnitz basketball team have underpinned their top position in the German league. Kevin Yebo (23 points) with a lay-up and Wesley van Beck (18) with a three turned the game around after trailing 89:90 80 seconds before the final whistle in a 94:90 (49:44) victory at Rostock Seawolves. In addition to the two top scorers, Kaza Kajami-Keane (14), DeAndre Lansdowne (12) and Jonas Richter (11) also played a big part in the success. Former Chemnitz player Wes Clark (24), Derrick Alston Jr. (22) and Tyler Nelson (20) scored the most points for Rostock.
Chemnitz missed the start and trailed 16:24 after nine minutes. The club from Saxony stepped up its intensity in defense in the second quarter and went 32:26 in front after a 16:2 run. The front-runners stretched that lead to 42:32 in the 15th minute. Rostock had all the trump cards in its hand again with an 82:80 lead in the 35th minute. However, Chemnitz made the better decisions in the end.
