FC Erzgebirge Aue remain in the relegation places in the third division. On matchday 16, coach Jens Härtel's team conceded a 1:3 (1:0) defeat at SV Wehen-Wiesbaden after four league games without defeat. In front of 12,000 spectators in the Brita-Arena, Julian Günther-Schmidt put the visitors ahead in the 17th minute. Justin Janitzek (53), substitute Donny Bogicevic (75) and Nikolas Agrafiotis (90.+5) turned the game around and made the home debut of Wiesbaden's new coach Daniel Scherning a victorious one.
Aue coach Härtel was again without goalscorer Marcel Bär, but was able to call on Mika Clausen instead. Aue got off to a very focused start and took the lead through Günther-Schmidt after a fine combination with Boris Tashchy (17'). The striker missed the second great opportunity shortly before the break, but failed to beat Wiesbaden goalkeeper Noah Brdar.
After the break, the home side pressed for an equalizer and were rewarded seven minutes after the restart. Janitzek scored with a header from a corner in the 53rd minute. Günther-Schmidt had a chance to take the lead for the second time in a battling match, but put the ball wide of the goal (65'). Bogicevic, who came on as a substitute in the 73rd minute, and Agrafiotis, who also came on as a substitute, did better ten minutes later to seal Auer's seventh defeat.
