Magdeburg signs Tony Reitz, a player who can be used in a variety of ways. He first fought his way up in Gladbach, then in Dortmund, where he was captain.

Second division soccer club 1. FC Magdeburg has signed midfielder Tony Reitz. The 21-year-old left-footer comes to the Elbe from Borussia Dortmund's second team. "Tony Reitz has a very exciting profile. He can be deployed variably in midfield and therefore gives us additional options. He has a very good left foot, with which
he not only sets the tone in the build-up play, but also exudes danger in set-piece situations," said FCM sporting director Peer Jaekel in a statement from the club.

Born in Duisburg, Reitz went through his soccer education at TuS Baerl, Borussia Mönchengladbach, FC Viktoria Köln and SG Unterrath before returning to the Lower Rhine in 2021. After two years with the Foals' U19s, he joined the second team and developed into a regular in the Regionalliga West. In February 2025, he moved to Borussia Dortmund's third division team. There, the 1.89-metre
tall Reitz was most recently captain.
