Mio, Matti, Luke, and Levi started their lives together. The quadruplets were born at Chemnitz University Hospital. For a young couple, this marks the beginning of life as a large family.

Quadruplet joy for a young couple from the Ore Mountains: At Chemnitz Hospital, 24-year-old Louise Ammon from Oelsnitz gave birth to quadruplets. The boys—Mio, Matti, Luke, and Levi—were born via C-section on Monday, according to the hospital. “The premature babies are doing well. Currently, the four boys are sleeping a lot and recovering from their early birth in a protected environment.” These are the first children for Louise Ammon and her husband Tom.

Quadruplets are rare: There is one set of quadruplets for every 600,000 births, which averages out to about one per year across Germany.
