Dick Brave plays live at the Dresden Semper Opera Ball

Dick Brave will be the musical star of the Semperoper Ball 2026. Together with his band, the rockabilly art figure will play a live concert at the Dresden Opera. The singer announced a firework display of rock'n'roll: "It's going to be a big party," said the 53-year-old.

Behind Dick Brave is the pop singer Sasha, who enjoyed international success in 1998 with the ballad "If You Believe". In 2002, he started the project Dick Brave and the Backbeats, which also achieved great popularity. After a twelve-year break, Dick Brave returned this year.

The Semperoper Ball will take place on February 6, 2026 under the motto "Film ab!". The menu, the cocktails and above all the program will be adapted to the title, as the chairman of the Semper Opera Ball Association, Gerhard Müller, said. Dick Brave also announced that he would come up with a suitable song.

Ticket contingent to be increased

Which presenters will lead through the ball night is still open. Their performance has been postponed until November due to illness. Anyone who would still like to purchase a ball ticket has the chance to do so: although 80 percent of the tickets have already been sold, the contingent will now be increased by almost 400 tickets, said Müller. Only strolling tickets are no longer available.
