When there is nothing going on in the youth center or community meeting place, frustration often grows in rural areas. The "Aller.Land" project aims to counteract this. The funded projects have now been determined.

Nothing going on in the village? A cultural slump in the countryside? In Saxony, two projects for culture, cohesion and democracy in rural areas are receiving funding. The federal government is providing 1.5 million euros each, as announced by Minister of State for Culture Wolfram Weimer. The aim is to invite artists, organize festivals or revive empty buildings as meeting places.

Important investment in the cultural landscape

The Göltzschtal future culture region in the Vogtland district will receive funding. More youth culture is to be created there, as well as offers for families, locals, newcomers and new target groups. In addition, the "Let's talk!" special-purpose association for the Upper Lusatia-Lower Silesia cultural region will receive funding of 1.5 million euros. The aim is to promote cohesion and civic participation in the countryside with cultural and artistic projects, the organizers of "Aller.Land" announced at the presentation of the selected projects.

A total of 97 initiatives applied nationwide and 30 were awarded the contract. "A diverse cultural offering is crucial for our cultural life in Germany - not only in larger cities, but also beyond the metropolitan areas," explained Weimer. The program is an important investment in the cultural landscape. The Federal Agency for Civic Education is involved in financing the 45 million euros for the years 2025 to 2030. The federal states are involved with co-financing of ten percent.
