The Saxon state parliament meets on Wednesday (from 10.00) for its penultimate plenary session of the year. First of all, Environment and Agriculture Minister Georg-Ludwig von Breitenbuch (CDU) will deliver a specialist government statement on the topic of water management. In times of climate change, the future handling of the important resource of water is also a key issue in the Free State of Bavaria.
Last speech by BSW parliamentary group leader Zimmermann in parliament
Three debates have been requested for the parliamentary topical hour. As the strongest opposition group, the AfD wants to discuss the market economy and, in particular, bureaucracy as a brake on the economy. The Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) has chosen the motto "Democracy is nothing without peace and social justice" for a debate. BSW parliamentary group leader Sabine Zimmermann will give her last speech in parliament - she is turning her back on politics. At the request of the SPD, the debate will then focus on sport in Saxony.
In addition, the state parliament will discuss two bills. In addition to an amendment to the so-called Transparency Act, a law is planned to attract more dentists to the rural regions of the Free State.
Later, the parliamentarians discuss several motions. The AfD is calling for free lunches in daycare centers and elementary school. The parliamentary groups of the minority coalition of the CDU and SPD, together with the Left Party and the Greens, requested better care for patients who are still suffering from the consequences of coronavirus or vaccination complications. The AfD also supports this. The Left Party is calling for measures to curb usurious rents in Saxony.
