The city council of Zwickau has to discuss the controversial ban on advertising for the German armed forces again today (3.00 pm). The council passed such a ban in January at the request of the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance. However, Mayor Constance Arndt (Citizens for Zwickau) has lodged an objection.
She considers the decision to be unlawful and detrimental to the city. It will not only lead to lower revenue. It also fears damage to Zwickau's image and a loss of trust with regard to future cooperation with the Bundeswehr.
