The Saxon government is traveling to Brussels at the beginning of November. In addition to a foreign cabinet meeting, talks with high-ranking representatives of the EU and the federal government on European issues are planned for November 4, as announced by the State Chancellery. The topics to be discussed include the EU financial framework for 2028 to 2034, energy and raw materials security and strengthening defense capabilities.
The government intends to adopt its European strategy at the cabinet meeting in the Brussels representation of the Free State. German EU Ambassador Thomas Ossowski will also be a guest. In addition, Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU) and his ministers will host an evening reception under the motto "Innovations as a driver for competitiveness, technological sovereignty and crisis resilience in Europe - Saxony's contribution".
