The early federal election is a logistical challenge due to the short time available. The state electoral administration turns to the population.

Saxony is still looking for electoral assistants for the Bundestag elections on February 23. "Our democracy depends on the people taking part in the elections, not only by voting on election day, but also by participating in the implementation and monitoring of the election processes," said the state electoral administration in Kamenz.

Around 36,000 electoral assistants are needed

According to the experience of previous elections, around 36,000 electoral assistants are needed for the approximately 4,500 polling stations and postal voting districts in the Free State, it said. The state electoral administration did not know how many are currently still missing. "Polling assistants do not need any special previous experience." Anyone eligible to vote can register.
