In future, the constitution of the Free State of Saxony will also be available in Sorbian. The "Wustawa Swobodneho stata Sakskeje" was published to mark the 25th anniversary of the Sorbian Law, as announced by the state parliament in Dresden on Friday. "This edition advances the idea of a living constitution and helps to preserve the Sorbian language and promote its use in Saxony," explained Matthias Rößler, President of the State Parliament. The Sorbian language is a unique part of Saxony's history and identity. "With their traditions, songs and customs as well as their religion, they enrich our entire Free State."

The bilingual edition of the state constitution can be ordered free of charge online. Since 2018, the visitors' entrance to the Saxon State Parliament has also been inscribed in Sorbian: "Sakski krajny sejm". There is also a Sorbian flag in the Presidium meeting room.
