The far-right scene in Saxony is expanding its meeting places. Last year, they were able to make use of 36 properties, according to a minor question from Left Party MP Juliane Nagel in the Saxon state parliament. Most of the facilities are permanently available to the right-wing extremists, while others are rented for specific occasions. According to the Ministry of the Interior, two properties are publicly owned. It was not disclosed which ones these are.
Left-wing politician calls for consistent action
"It is not enough to register the meeting places. Access to real estate is a key strategy of the far right to consolidate and expand their structures - the responsible authorities must take consistent action against this," explained Nagel. So far, however, this has not been the case. Restrictions on use have only been imposed on three properties.
