Slightly fewer rejected asylum seekers were deported from Saxony in the third quarter. However, there were significantly more who left the country voluntarily.

More foreigners without a permanent right of residence left Saxony voluntarily between the beginning of July and the end of September. According to the state directorate, 372 people were recorded - 132 more than in the same period last year. This includes both state-sponsored and self-financed departures. According to the data, the majority of returnees were Syrians - followed by Turkish, Venezuelan, Russian and Georgian citizens.

In addition, there were around 200 deportations from July to September. The countries of origin were mainly Georgia, Pakistan and Turkey. According to the authorities, 57 of the people deported by the regional directorate were criminals.

In total, 707 people were deported by the end of September, compared to 745 in the same period last year. In contrast, the number of voluntary departures almost doubled to almost 1,300 (January to September 2024: 726).
