The Left Party in the Saxon state parliament is calling for the new AfD youth organization Generation Deutschland in Saxony to be swiftly classified as a right-wing extremist movement. The predecessor organization Junge Alternative with around 200 members had been under observation until the end, claimed MP Juliane Nagel. The Saxon state association of Generation Germany was founded in Chemnitz at the beginning of February.
Authority lists AfD contacts with extremist organizations
Nagel had asked the state parliament about the activities of the AfD in 2025. In its answer, the Ministry of the Interior pointed out that individual AfD functionaries had appeared in a music video by the right-wing extremist music label "NDS-Records".
In the past year, AfD members and functionaries had occasionally taken part in events organized by the "Free Saxony" party. Like the Saxon AfD state association, it is classified as right-wing extremist by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution. In Eilenburg, Leipzig and Zittau, representatives of the two parties formed joint city council groups, the report continued.
In addition, the Ministry of the Interior cited a cooperation between the AfD Saxony and the right-wing extremist "Compact Magazine". The AfD district association for the Leipzig district had planned a solidarity rally in September for the imprisoned members of the alleged right-wing terrorist group "Saxon Separatists". The planned rally was ultimately not held at the instigation of the AfD state executive. AfD members had also promoted the extremist organization "Identitäre Bewegung Deutschland"/"Sachsengarde".
