He wouldn't shed a tear for Venezuelan President Maduro, says Saxon left-wing politician Nam Duy Nguyen. At the same time, he strongly condemns the actions of the US.

The Left Party in the Saxon state parliament is calling for protection for refugees from Venezuela. The desolate economy of the South American country has driven millions of people to flee, most of them to neighboring countries, explained MP Nam Duy Nguyen. However, around 9,000 people from Venezuela also live in Saxony - usually only with a tolerated status. Saxony is responsible for the initial reception of refugees from Venezuela nationwide.

Leftists demand that deportation be waived

"We must do everything we can to ensure that they receive permanent protection here and can build a safe life. That also means not deporting anyone there," emphasized the parliamentarian. At the same time, Germany must also prevent Venezuela from "continuing to become a pawn in the hands of the superpowers".

Leftists condemn US intervention in Venezuela

The MP strongly condemned the US intervention in Venezuela. Over the weekend, the US military attacked targets in Venezuela and captured Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores. They were brought before a court in New York on Monday, where they have to answer for alleged drug offenses. Many experts and countries condemned the action as a clear breach of international law.

Left-wing politician exposes Maduro as a dictator

The Saxon left-wing politician made it clear that he does not shed a tear for Maduro. "He has not ruled in the interests of the Venezuelan people. He had dissenters shot and imprisoned, persecuted political opponents and queer people. The population became even more impoverished: while the minimum wage stagnated at poverty level, the corrupt elite systematically enriched itself to the tune of billions."

"The feedback from the local Venezuelan community also shows this: Most people are happy that Maduro is no longer in power," emphasized Nam Duy Nguyen. For him, however, it is also clear that US President Donald Trump does not have Venezuela's welfare in mind, but above all the oil, which should flow again in the interests of US corporations.
