Greens parliamentary group leader Franziska Schubert believes that her right to ask questions and obtain information as a member of the state parliament has been violated and is therefore taking her case to the constitutional court in Leipzig. The background to this is a minor question about the Helios Clinic in Schkeuditz, which will be closed in 2025. The Saxon Ministry of Social Affairs had refused to provide some answers with reference to business and trade secrets. This also concerned the receipt of public funds for investments in the clinic shortly before its closure.
Appeal to the Constitutional Court
"We will not put up with this policy of silence and have therefore appealed to the Constitutional Court of the Free State of Saxony and applied for a declaration that the state government has violated my constitutionally guaranteed right to ask questions and provide information by partially refusing to answer my minor interpellation," explained Schubert.
