Frank Pfeil has been unanimously elected as the new President of the Saxony State Sports Association. The 65-year-old, who was State Secretary in various Saxon ministries from 2014 to 2024, succeeds Ulrich Franzen, who last led the LSB in Freistatt as President for twelve years. "In addition to valuing voluntary work and strengthening the sports facility infrastructure, it is particularly important to me that we as organized sport act as a strong community when it comes to the position of sport in society and asserting our political interests," said the former canoeist.
In addition, Professor Almut Krapf was elected as the new Vice President for Sports Development/Popular Sports. Professor André Schneider will take over as Vice President Education/Environment. Andreas Woda was elected as the new Treasurer. Klaus Mau is the new Vice President of Competitive Sports.
Majority for Safe Sport Code
In addition to necessary updates to the statutes, the delegates approved the introduction of the Safe Sport Code for LSB Saxony, including the associated rules of conduct, with a 91% majority. The Safe Sport Code serves to protect against interpersonal violence and will initially be introduced for all full-time and voluntary LSB employees. By adopting it, the LSB wants to take a decisive stance against all forms of violence.
