The anniversary of Saxony's largest folk festival in Sebnitz in 2025 is a premiere. The 30th "Day of the Saxons" will be celebrated across borders for the first time and Dolní Poustevna (Niedereinsiedel) on the Czech side will be included, as announced by the host town of Sebnitz. According to the "Day of the Saxons" board of trustees, this is intended to set an "important example of regional cooperation".
Joy on the other side of the border
For Robert Holec, mayor of the neighboring town, it is an "excellent opportunity to connect our cities and cultures". They want to make the festival "an unforgettable experience" and "further strengthen the friendship between our communities".
Sebnitz is hosting the event for the second time since 2003. The motto "To blooming experiences!" reflects "the unique identity of the city with its traditional craft of artificial flowers", summarizes its traditions, the sense of community and also vibrancy and diversity that make up the city, brings people together and celebrates its cultural heritage, said Lord Mayor Ronald Kretzschmar.
