The German School Award recognizes institutions with particularly good quality. This year, two schools from Saxony have received awards.

Two Saxon schools have been awarded the German School Prize. The Questenberg Primary School in Meißen came second out of five schools with an innovative educational concept. The Ministry of Culture announced that the school received 30,000 euros in prize money. The Evangelical School Center Muldental in Grimma also received a democracy prize.

This year, the main prize of the German School Award, endowed with 100,000 euros, went to an elementary school in Berlin (Prenzlauer Berg). More than 100 schools had applied. The prize is organized by the Robert Bosch Stiftung and the Heidehof Stiftung. The German School Prize has been awarded for particularly good school quality since 2006.
