Slightly more students were enrolled at Saxony's universities in the previous year than in 2023. According to the State Statistical Office, 103,714 students were enrolled in the 2024/25 winter semester, 0.3 percent more than in the previous year.
A third of all students (35,010) were enrolled in degree programs in the subject group "Law, Economics and Social Sciences", followed by degree programs in "Engineering" with more than 30 percent (31,372). A good 10 percent (10,778) study mathematics and natural sciences.
