Saxon products are in demand abroad - goods with a total value of 4.9 billion euros were exported in March. This is an increase of 15 percent compared to the same month last year. The majority of goods (61 percent) were exported to Europe. Here, there was above-average growth of 19% compared to the same month last year. The main customers in Europe are the United Kingdom, France, Poland and the Czech Republic.
China remains the most important single country for exports. In March, goods worth 522.5 million euros were exported to this country - contrary to the general trend, however, there was a 10% decline compared to the same month last year.
The USA came in second. Here, there was an increase of seven percent compared to the previous year - however, according to the statistics office, it remains to be seen what effect the tariffs announced by the USA, some of which have already been imposed, will have. Saxony mainly exports cars, mobile homes, mechanical engineering products and electronic products to the USA.
