The railroad line between Leipzig and Chemnitz is still disrupted on Tuesday morning. It is still not clear how long the disruption will last.

After cables were damaged in Leipzig, train services between Leipzig and Chemnitz are still restricted. However, when asked, Deutsche Bahn was not yet able to give an exact forecast on the length of the disruption. This will probably only be possible later today.

According to the Saxony State Office of Criminal Investigation, unknown persons damaged a cable duct on a railroad bridge in Leipzig-Volkmarsdorf at the weekend. This triggered a signal fault. According to the Mitteldeutsche Regiobahn (MRB), this particularly affects the RE 6, which means that several trains between Leipzig Hauptbahnhof and Leipzig-Liebertwolkwitz are canceled. Replacement buses have been arranged between the two stations.
