A power failure in the Coschütz and Dölzschen highway tunnels caused long traffic jams on the A17 on Tuesday morning. As a result of the outage, access barriers closed automatically, according to police. Motorists who were in the tunnel chain could safely drive out of the tunnels.
According to police, it was jammed in the direction of Prague to the triangle Dresden-West, in the opposite direction to the exit Heidenau. Accordingly, the police were informed about the power outage at about 7:30 a.m., at about 9:50 a.m. it was fixed and the tunnels could be reopened. A helicopter was used for coordination.
